This year’s Champions for Children was a complete success! We had nearly 475 people in the room and together raised $200,000 to support the students, teachers, and schools in Greater Clark.
Dan Farmer, GCCS Alum and lead singer of the Juice Box Heroes was our master of ceremonies for the evening. We celebrated our Classified & Certified Employees of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Alumnus of the Year from each High School, as well as our Business and NonProfit of the Year. Congrats to all of our winners!
Some other exciting things happened that night. The GCEF announced the first ever recipients of the Regina Oglesby Scholarship. Congrats to Nashiea Edmiston and Terrance Thomas for receiving this honor. The GCEF revealed three $5,000 Mega Grants awarded to Charlestown Middle School for their Piano Lab, New Washington Elementary for their STEM/Book Vending Machine, and to Charlestown High School for their Healthy Choices Mobile. A surprise grant of $50,000 from Meta was announced that will support outfitting the STEM labs at River Valley Middle, Pike Elementary, & Charlestown Elementary.
This night would not be possible without our amazing business partners who graciously support the efforts of the GCEF.
We ended the evening with entertainment from the talented Juice Box Heroes.
